In spite of the many conveniences of modern living, people are experiencing deep stress and health challenges that are placing unrelenting workloads on their body systems. While a weary mind and body may be the new normal for many, even without knowing, we’ll explore how you can learn to be aware and release the stress by re-connecting mind and body.
In this session, you will:
Learn to come back to your body beyond mental stress and busy-ness
Discover and experience the power of inner smile
Practice mindfulness of your body and deep compassion for yourself and others
Questions for Reflection:
Take a few moments to journal about the following questions.
What does the phrase “come back to your body with deeper acceptance, deeper awareness and deeper feeling of love” invoke in you?
Master Mingtong leads us in two meditation practices.
In the first meditation, he invites us to simply notice the wholeness and totality of life within us, acknowledging and embracing all the sensations and feelings of …(proceed with slowly scanning through your body from head to toe, from the inside out) … both comfortable and uncomfortable, both intense and the subtle. What did you notice in your body? (Try to state it simply, without diagnosis/ labels/ judgement of good or bad.)
In the second meditation, he leads us in the practice of Inner Smile. Whether this is the first time you have done this practice, or the 100th time, take a moment to acknowledge what you felt this time. How did this feel? - In your body? -In your mind/heart? What did smiling inwardly activate in you? - around you?
