Too Many People? The Facts Of Earth's Carrying Capacity And The danger Of Thinking We've Exceeded It
Since the 1960s we have been led to believe that the human population of our world is exceeding the carrying capacity of our resources. In this module, Gregg will explore the new studies that now cast doubt on this assumption and suggest that such linear thinking – based on outdated models of scarcity – has led to drastic policies and the suffering of entire societies. Those new studies reveal that: 1) we have not yet exceeded the carrying capacity of our planet, and 2) we can avoid the devastating effects of doing so while simultaneously raising the standard of living for our entire global family, rather than lowering it for many to support a select few to maintain their extravagant lifestyles. He will also make a factual evaluation of global birth rates and land use to gain an honest assessment of our global family and the need for the new technologies that support our global growth and evolution, and for us to reevaluate the choices we make in daily life, as well as the policies we support in our society.
