Weaving Peace with Thoma Ewen

This video featuring Canadian tapestry artist Thoma Ewen, artistic director of Moon Rain Centre was first presented at the World Textile Art VII Bienale in Montevideo, Uruguay in 2017. Filmed by Pixie Cram, it explains the ancient indigenous belief that weaving transmits the energy of peace.

Thoma Ewen has been weaving light-filled, meditative tapestries for more than 45 years. She exhibits internationally, and is the author of The Living Tapestry Workbook, a beginner’s guide to tapestry weaving. At Moon Rain Centre, Thoma collaborates with her daughter, textile artist Gabby Ewen, leading co-creative community arts projects, like The Vision Weave Project.
