Join host Steve Farrell as he chats with Steve Bhaerman, also known as “Swami Beyondananda,” the Cosmic Comic. His style of ‘wisdom disguised as comedy’ and ‘comedy disguised as wisdom’ has helped him touch lives for 25 years. Noted author Marianne Williamson called Steve, “the Mark Twain of our generation.”
From humble beginnings in the elementary school lunchroom, to teaching, to cutting trees, humor has always been a part of his life. While working for the city of Ann Arbor, he began a humorous-styled newsletter and noticed how laughter could be used effectively in the awakening process. This was also the time of his personal awakening to the gift of humor that he’d been given, and Swami Beyondananda was born, becoming the vehicle for his work with spirituality and humor.
He uses his gift as a bridge over the gap, a means to point out the discrepancy between what we know can be and what is actually so. He believes levity gives us the ability to discuss things that are normally contentious. It reminds us what sanity looks like and raises us above the lines of demarcation by releasing endorphins and other chemicals into our system.
Laughter brings more oxygen to the brain, creating more resources so that we aren’t stuck in ‘fight or flight’ mode. We're expanded to create possibility, and that's the state where we need to be right now in order to create this oneness, this awakening, and the world that our hearts know is possible.
Humanity's Team and the global oneness movement are essentially re-calibrating our human experience to be able to encompass a more real reality -- a reality that science has essentially proven and one that we are still in the process of catching up with. Humor can ease our steps along this path so we aren’t hit so hard!
