Filmed at Moon Rain Centre and presented at the International Contemporary Tapestry on-line symposium Oct 31, 2020, this video by filmmaker Pixie Cram documents the creative process in the weaving of Starwatch, Thoma Ewen’s recent tapestry that was finished during Covid lockdown in Canada.

Thoma has been weaving radiant, meditative tapestries for over 45 years. She has exhibited and taught internationally, and is the author of The Living Tapestry Workbook, a beginners guide to tapestry weaving. She communicates the ancient indigenous belief that weaving is a sacred path, and illustrates how tapestry’s vital contemporary role is to transmit the energy of peace.
